Gold Fields Tarkwa Lifts  Farmer's Day Triangular Tennis Tourney  Title

Gold Fields Tarkwa Tennis Club won this year’s Farmers’s Day Triangular Tennis Tournament.

The competition witnessed the spirited participation of three esteemed clubs, Ho Tennis Club, Takoradi tennis Club and host Gold Fields Tennis Club.

Over all, 27 games were played with a winner. Gold Fields Tarkwa Tennis Club winning 15 points ( 9 singles and 6 doubles. 2nd place Ho Tennis Club also had 9 points ( 5 singles and 4 doubles) and 3rd place Takoradi Tennis Club also with 3 points (one singles and 2 doubles).

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Gold Fields Tarkwa Tennis Club Former Chairman Charles Opoku-Amoateng said, on behalf of the club President Mr. Michiel van der Merwe.

We thank you all for great participation. Our emphasis is on the competitive interactions.

I want to use this opportunity to acknowledge Head Coach Richard Achagawe and the executive members of Tarkwa Tennis Club for the organization of this tournament.

Takoradi Sports Club Vice Chairman, Michael Lawson said, I want to thank the host Gold Fields Tennis for hosting this tournament, though we didn’t have the men to stand the competitive nature of the tournament, we come back stronger next year.’

Secretary of Ho Tennis Club, Nana Baffour Gyem Darkwa also stated, on behalf of our Patrons, Executives and entire membership of Ho Tennis Club, we want to say a big thanks to Gold Fields Tarkwa tennis club for the hospitality.’
