Johnson Acquah, Sisu-Makena Tomega reign as Charles Masters Champs

Johnson Acquah and Sisu Makana Tomega won the singles titles at the just ended Charles Masters Singles Champions at the Atomic Tennis Club. Here is a look at their title runs:-

 

 Johnson Acquah 

 The Men’s Singles Final was full of unexpected twists and turns, including the lead-up to the eventual final match between Johnson Acquah and Lameck Bagerbaseh.  Johnson comfortably controlled both sets with a greater range of shots, as Lameck Bagerbaseh struggled to exert himself. Johnson had won four of the pair’s previous meetings, again showing dominance at the start of the second set after winning the first set 6-3. Current 

Tennis Professionals of Ghana No.1 Johnson only dropped a set against Reginald Okantey in the semifinal and looked confident as he sealed victory 6-3, 6-4. 

"Hopefully I can continue this kind of streak at the All Africa Games in Ghana, Winning two titles within two months is great. Winning an InterRecruit Scholarship and Charles Masters is unbelievable. For me, this is an amazing start to know at the back of my mind ’’ Johnson said.

Johnson took home Ten thousand Ghana cedis whiles runner up Lameck Bagerbaseh had six thousand Ghana cedis. 

 

Sisu- Makena Tomega 

Tournament No.1 seed Sisu- Makena Tomega earned the first title of the year on Sunday night, breezing past Tracy Naa Ampah 6-2,6-3 in the Charles Masters women’s final.

 "I don't know if I was expecting this result, but I'm thrilled with how I played today," Sisu said. "I think today level-wise was relatively superb and I feel very satisfied.”

 “I want to use this opportunity to thank Mr. Charles Addo-Quaye of Lone Star Gas for organizing the championship.” Sisu added.

Sisu walked away with Eight thousand Ghana cedis and runner up Tracy Ampah  received five thousand Ghana cedis.
