Nikola Jovic wins TFG/ITF J100 Accra Week 1

Serbia’s Nikola Jovic revenged his loss to Nigeria’s David Ekpenyong to win Tennis Foundation Ghana OPEN ITF J100 Accra Week 1.

Jovic seeded No.2 who lost in the J60 final to David Ekpenyong made up for his loss by beating Ekpenyong 6-1, 6-2 at the National Tennis Center, Accra. Jovic dominated both sets, winning the first set 6-1, and the second set 6-2.

Speaking to ghanatennis.org, Jovic said, after losing the J60 final, I am so happy to have won this title and also revenged my loss to him.

Jovic, added Ghana, is a wonderful place to be, and if more ITF J100 tournaments are organized, I will definitely come again.

Sisters Kristina and Annika Penickova scored an impressive sweep on Friday and met in an unprecedented family final in the Tennis Foundation Ghana Open ITF J100, Accra.

In the final, the older sister got the best of the younger sister in their first ITF final meeting. With the older sister Kristina winning 6-4, 6-4 against the younger sister Annika.

Penickova Sisters teamed up beautifully to win the girls doubles title, beating Great Britain’s Elizabeth Evans and Greece’s Theodorah Kousiou 6-1, 6-0.

After an impressive display in the boys singles final, Serbia’s Nikola Jovic partnered India’s Debasis Sahoo to win the boys doubles title, beating Great Britain’s Maximilian Carrier and Serbia’s Mateya Stanisavljevic 7-6(2),7-6(4).
