Tennis Foundation Ghana President Mr. Roger Crawford has expressed his outrage at the attack on the Ghana Wheelchair tennis players by armed robbers in Nigeria.

Last night, Mr. Crawford, organized a dinner for the players at his Égalité Sports Bar and Restaurant inside Accra Sports Stadium.

In a phone call with Mr. Henry Larbi, Ghana Wheel Chair Tennis Coordinator, Mr. Crawford said, "I am deeply moved by the incident and expressed its utmost sympathies for those who suffered injuries as a result of the attack.
This is an indictment on all of us at Ghana Tennis Federation. We need to start treating our physically challenged members of our sporting family with the same dignity and respect we accord everyone else. "
Mr. Larbi expressed his concern about the mental trauma that these players will have to bear for a long time.

In the early hours of yesterday, unmasked robbers wielding machetes and guns attacked the Ghana wheelchair tennis team on their way back to Ghana after participating in the 2023 ITF World Team Cup Africa Qualifiers in Abuja, Nigeria, leaving a lot of the players with physical and mental injuries.
