Golden Rackets off to a bright start

Ghana launched their Davis Cup campaign with a glittering start after beating Kenya 2-1 in the opening match at the Ecology Tennis Club, Kicukiro, Kigali.

Ghana's Isaac Nortey put Golden Rackets ahead after beating Kenya's opponent Kael Shalin Shah 6-3, 3-6, 4-6 but Ghana's Abraham Asaba lost his game to Ishmael Mzai 5-7, 4-6

In the doubles' event, Abraham Asaba whose doubles ITF/ATP is 435, partnered Isaac Nortey to outwit Kenya's pair Ibrahim Kibet Yego and Ishmael Mzai 7-5, 6-4.

The win was a perfect response to Coach Frederick Egyir call on his players to make "an ideal" start.

The Golden Rackets will take on Cameron, who also ousted Botswana 3-0.
