Ghana's female team set to bounce back after shock loss to Benin

Ghana's female contingent at the ongoing ITF/CAT West Africa under 12 championships may redeem themselves in their next game after suffering a huge setback in their first encounter of the tournament on Wednesday after getting a bye in the first round.

The three member female team lost all their matches against their Benin counterparts during the first encounter of the competition.

Angel Bagerbaseh started the game very well with a 6-2 win, only to lose the second set 6-4 and the final set 6-0 to Benin's Marete Noamie. In the second singles match, Lisel Ampah could not match her opponent as she lost to Honfonga Delphine 6-1, 6-2.

In the doubles' event: the expectation was a consolation win for the team, but their counterparts from Benin won 2-6, 5-7.

Speaking to ghanatennis.org said, head coach, Yahya Macauley said, we have put these results aside and have pumped the girls up, and I believe they will record better results in our next match.
