Ghana Tennis Federation National Tour 1 Champion (2023) Desmond Ayaaba won his first title in the US, beating former Ghana No.1, George Darko 6-2, 7-5 in the final on Satrurday the 6th July 2024.
Desmond played at his best to reach the final and then dug deep during the title match to earn the biggest win of his season.
Speaking to ghanatennis.org Desmond said, ‘ Actually don’t know what to say to be honest, I am just happy, finally to have played a match against someone who I have always dreamt of playing my whole life, when I was young, he inspired me and other youngsters a lot. I want thank all those who supported my trip to the US specially my club Premier Tennis club members."
“Am here on a scholarship training at tennis Innovators Academy in US, and obviously to play some tournaments here, let’s see what the future holds’ he concluded.
