Tournament No.1 seed Samuel Antwi claimed his seventh National Ranking Tour title with a 6-0,6-1 demolition of home-favorite Bernard Ashitey Armaah at the Accra Lawn Tennis Club.
The Atomic Tennis Club star Antwi, who lost once in the Ranking final ( to Japheth Bagerbaseh in 2021 Tour 2), won in 66 minutes.
"It was my best performance in all the finals in my career. It was incredible, incredible," the Antwi said.
"It was 6-0, 6-1 in under an hour. Everything I tried worked. To be proud of the achievement is the least I can say of how I played."
Antwi serving for the match at 2-0, Bernard broke serve, but Antwi soon won in 66 minutes.
"I met somebody in the final who I've never seen before. Really, how he performed today was outstanding," said Bernard Ashitey.
Having lost the opening set, Bernard Ashitey surrendered the first game of the second to love with a double fault. He rose from his seat at the changeover with the score at 0-2 in the third game to break Antwi serve to 2-1 to avoid the ignominy of becoming the first man to lose 6-0,6-0 in a National Ranking Tour final.
Antwi walked away with a cash prize of $ 500.00 dollars with runner up Bernard Ashitey also pocketing $300. Reginald Okantey and Kenneth Adzokatse getting $ 150.00 and the quarter finalist also receiving $100 dollars each respectively.
The weeklong Tennis Professionals of Ghana (TPG) National Ranking Tour 1 event was sponsored by Amoako Boafo, Tennis Foundation Ghana and Accra Lawn Tennis Club also.
