JUNIOR TENNIS PLAYERS OBSERVE PROTOCOLS AT MCDAN FOUNDATION TRAINING MATCHES

The ongoing McDan Foundation Training Matches saw junior tennis players observing strict protocols by wearing nose masks and social distancing.

The week-long training matches started on Monday 26th and will climax on Saturday 31st October 2020 with 230 children aged between 8 to 16 years. The youngsters displayed their various skills in tennis and some outwitted their counterparts to reach the quarterfinals stage 

Tournament Organizer, Mrs. Abigail McKorley told ghanatennis.org that, "From the onset of the training matches, we have made sure the kids are always with their nose masks and practicing social distancing. I am happy with the turnout and impressed with the level of competition".

The competition entered the quarter final stage as the boys 16 &under No.1 seed Abubakari Yakubu-Lea ousting Charles Quartey 4-0, 4-1 and Kwasi Frimpong outshined George Opoku Junior 4-0, 4-0. 

In other games: Winneba-based Raphael Nii Ankrah defeated Moses Ayorka 4-0, 4-0.Caleb Aryeetey ousted Godfred Nortey 4-0, 4-1. Raphael Dowuona, who was in top form, beat Kelvin Alifo 4-0, 4-1

The boy's category 14 years and under saw Army Officers Tennis Club's Joseph Koku Doe Adjani beating Gerald Aduafo Collins 6-0. Prince Effeh outwitted Solomon Impraim 6-4. Michael Tagoe also won 6-0 against Emmanuel Yeboah.

The other 14 & under matches saw, Wilson Fiifi Aklah beating Emmanuel Quarcoo 6-3. Joshua Ayaaba defeated Norbert Asem 6-0,Nathaniel Allotey overcame Julius Ofori Amarkwei 6-0. 

In the boys 12 & under, Herbert Kofi Doe Adjani outclassed Michael Asibi 4-1. Michael Asakinaba defeated Godfred Oppong Tutu 4-1. Gerald Nii Ayi Ankrah beat Gile Nii Ayitey Delmeida 4-0.

The girls 12 & under, saw Hephsibah Appiah beating no.1 seed Chidimma Oriaku Jay 5-3. Florence Lamptay defeated Christabel Aduafo Collins 4-2. Goldfields tennis club's Lisel Ampah trash Suguri Akaguri Anaporka 4-0. Wiennba based Ángel Bagerbaseh Bukari ousted Gifty Aweh 4-1.
