Naa Mckorley, Tracy Ampah, Yakubu Abubakari, Kenneth Adjokatse and Caleb Aryettey are all off to a flying start in Lome- Togo

 Shika Mckorley, Tracy Ampah, Kenneth Adjokatse, Yakubu Abubakari-Lea and Caleb Aryettey got off to great starts at the ITF U-18 Tournament in Lome ,Togo on Monday .

Unseeded Shika Mckorley advanced to the second round following a comfortable 6-0, 6-0 win over home favorite Adeline Winner Kpessou. The 14-year-old will next face No.2 seed Flora Johnson from Great Britain.

Elsewhere Tracy Ampah soundly defeated another home favorite Mazamesso Grace Tchanoussa 7-5, 0-6, 6-0. Tracy will take on No.6 seed Joody Elkady from Egypt who ousted Nigeria's Destiny Okhinaye 6-0, 6-2.


Kenneth Adjokatse also got a win in the boy's singles beating Burundi's Wepia Narcisse Andre Bessebro 6-1, 6-1. Kenneth will play Australia's Mudiwa Munyimani in the second round. Caleb Aryettey also made it into the second round after beating Benin's Amour Kelly Djidjoho Gandonou 6-4, 6-1.

Yakubu Abubakari-Lea seeded No.6 announced his presence with a 6-4, 6-4 win over home favorite Mawuko Francois-Xavier Gapko. Yakubu will face Cameroon's Jefferson Teague who outwitted Benin's Ilan Noah Amady Garba 6-2, 6-0.

 

Meanwhile Ghana's Desmond Ayaaba who is seeded No.4 lost to Ivorian Louay Makke. Sisu Makena Tomegah also lost to Great Britain's Jadesola Cole 1-6, 2-6. Naa Anyema Mckorley could not stand No.4 seed Valentine Talaki as she lost to the Togolese.
