Annette Cruikshank wins Mansa Gold Holiday Tennis Tournament

Number one seed, Annette Cruikshank won her first clay court title of the year after coming from a set down to beat third seeded Vanessa Akuaku at the Accra Lawn tennis club on Saturday.
 
The weeklong event saw Annette at her dominant best against Vanessa after dropping the opening set, breaking her opponents' serve three times in the last two sets to triumph 4-6 6-3 6-1 in two hours and six minutes.
 
Annette extended her domination over Vanessa, having won all four of their five encounters since 2018. 
 
During an on-court interview in response to the observation that she had seemed jittery, Annette replied: ''Oh, I was. Very nervous, but in the end I am happy to have won the title. I played a perfect match today''
 
Vanessa had an upper hand in the first set.  "It was difficult for me," Annette said, "both physically and mentally.'' Eventually, she got her 'best-in-the-game' return on track and served so flawlessly that she did not face a single break point over the last two sets.
 
 Vanessa also said she was delighted with her performance in this year's Mansa Gold Tournament, and revealed she would continue fighting to make her mark.
