Nicholson Nartey wins Fine Water Open 

Nicholson Nartey secured his first singles title by winning the maiden edition of The Fine Water Open at the Ghana Tennis Club, Adabraka.

The Vikings' tennis club star, Nicholson, beat home favorite Stanley Nyarko (Adabraka No.1) 6-2, 1-6, 6-3 in an hour and 45 minutes. 

Nicholson retrieved an early break in the first set and broke again in the 4th game to secure the opener. Stanley swept through the second after breaking Nicholson four times. 

 

However, in the final set, Nicholson summoned his trademark fighting spirit and with a double break completed the victory with a forehand winner. 

Speaking to ghanatennis.org, Nicholson said, “It means a lot. It is a great result. Once I can share with my club members who are here with me. This result makes us feel good, stronger and hungry to work even harder for the next edition."
