Lisel Ampah wins Kidi Tennis Tournament and Clinic

Tarkwa Gold Field's tennis club star Lisel Ampah saw off Joy Oriaku of Stadium Tennis Club, by 5-4(1) in the final of the 2022 Kidi Tennis and Clinic Tournament at the National Tennis Centre, Accra.

After four games in all, Lisel uplifted her game to win the tie- break, breaking Joy's serve three times.

In other games, Georgette Nortey outwitted her opponent Phyllis Kotey in an all Stadium affair in the 12 and under category.

In the 12 and under events, Jeff Frimpong of Ghana Tennis Club outplayed his opponent Michael Asakinaba of Tesano Tennis Club 4-0.

Stadium based Joseph Atitsogbe showed superiority over Ebenezer Quaye in the all Stadium affair.

The one day Kidi Tennis Tournament and Clinic attracted over 100 children across the country.

Speaking to ghanatennis.org, tournament organizer Kevin Vanderpuye said, "I am happy with the turnout, I can say the future looks bright for Ghana tennis with what I have seen". We keep moving the tournament venues for the children to have a different feel of court, we started from Korle-Bu Tennis Club, last year was ICGC Tennis Club and this year we are at the Stadium.

President of Ghana tennis Federation Isaac Abogye Duah said, I want to thank organisers for this initiative, the Federation will render its support to such initiatives. Once again, thank you.
