Techiman Tennis Club (TTC) over the weekend proved superiority over G.O Tennis Club from Sunyani as they won the singles (boys and girls), doubles (boys and girls) and mix doubles. TTC were the hosts for the event.
The one-day tournament took place at the Holy Family Hospital Tennis club, Techiman.
The tournament began with the boy's doubles as Lestowel Nyarko of Techiman tennis club combined beautifully with Alfred Gyan to defeat Solomon Odame and Abdullah Basha of G. O tennis club 6-4.
Ernest Mark and his partner Opoku Ofosu Gyeabour got another win for the host club as the duo outwitted Evans Boakye and Yussif Kadri 6-4.
The girls' doubles followed the same trend as Techiman pair Hawa Abubakari and Stephanie Duah ousted Nana Ama Asantewaa and Jamilatu Ali Alhassan 6-4.
Hawa Abubakari of Techiman Tennis Club got the girls' singles win for Techiman Tennis Club after overcoming Jamilatu Ali Alhassan 6-2. The host won the two boys singles as Nana Opoku Ofosu Gyeabour outshone Solomon Odame 6-3 and also Alfred Gyan beat Abdulai Basha 6-3.
Patron of Holy Family tennis club Christopher Akanbobnaab said, 'I am happy we have been able to put smiles on faces of these children. I want to thank Mr. Bill Owen for such initiative, Tennis Foundation Ghana for coming in to help with the organization of the tournament and lastly all the coaches who came to support the tournament'.
Dignitaries present were: Nana Opoku Fosu Gyeabour, Chairman of Techiman tennis club, Mr. George Alhassan, Mr. Addo Gyambibi, Yaw Owusu Adoma, Christopher Sumboh and Percy Boakye. Christopher Akanbobnaab - Holy Family Hospital administrator who also doubles as the Patron of Holy Family tennis club, Jonathan Nsiah Asare - Pharmacy technician, Holy family hospital and the Proprietor of Ayisatu of Owen Schools, Wilfred Owen.
