Fine Water Open Men's Round of 32 wrap: Well Known Players All Advance To Round 16

The maiden edition of the Fine Water Open tournament began last week with notable players getting into the round of 16.

The first game, which was played in the early hours, saw home favorite Bernard Alidu beating Seth Adibu 9-7.

The second game of the day saw Ghana Tennis Federation Board member Henry Boni Quarshie who doubles as Ghana tennis club former vice president, took out his opponent in a game that ended 9-3.

The last game on Friday saw another victory for GTF Board member Frederick Okpoti Konney winning 9-3 against his opponent Joseph Wiredu.

On Saturday the home favorite Nana Poku proved his superiority over his opponent as he won 9-6 over Albert Adzah.

Nicholas Nartey displayed beautiful tennis to outwit his opponent David Naawu 9-1. Another win for the home favorite as Lawyer Richard Odum Mensah sailed into the round of 16 after Egner David Kisseh retired after seven games.

In other matches Premier Tennis club deputy captain Bernard, Nii Bortey registered his first win with a 9-4 over Ransford Mensah.

Police Depot Tennis club’s Kwasi Ofori-Atta got into the round 16 with a 9-2 win against Fares Al-Ayadi. Accra Lawn Tennis Club’s David Carreras silenced Police Depot’s Etorman Gbelende with a 9-1 win.

Another win for Accra Lawn Tennis Club as former Chairman George Mills outwitted his opponent Emmanuel A. Mensah 9-5. Prince Tetteh defeated Bismark Alimoh 9-3. Alex K. Mensah was awarded a cap after beating his opponent Kelvin Neequaye 9-0.
