Tennis Foundation Ghana Academy

Who We Are
The Tennis Foundation Ghana (TFG) is a non-profit organization dedicated to combining education and tennis to inspire children and positively affect their lives across Ghana. The TFG Academy serves as the formal training ground for young athletes, ensuring they excel both on the court and in the classroom.
Our Mission & Philosophy
We operate on the core principle that academic excellence and athletic discipline go hand-in-hand. To be a good tennis player, one must also be a good student. We believe tennis builds character, keeps youth engaged in positive activities, and opens doors to future opportunities beyond sports.

Key Programs & Operations
-
Resident Teacher Program: TFG has resident teachers for a full day of lessons and academic support, ensuring they keep up with their studies.
-
Grassroots Development: We are actively working to decentralize tennis and make it accessible to rural communities. A major milestone was the commissioning of a tennis court at the Presbyterian Basic School in Apirede in January 2026, in partnership with the Accra Social Tennis Club and Staroil.
-
Community Clinics & Donations: TFG holds clinics across the country (e.g., at St. Francis Tennis Academy in Ashaiman) and donates essential equipment—such as tennis balls, restringing machines, and other gear—to regional clubs like the Ho Tennis Club in the Volta Region.
-
International Competitions: Since August 2018, TFG has hosted an annual ITF competition in Ghana. Our academy players have also represented Ghana internationally, including at the ITF/CAT West & Central African Junior Championships in Togo.
