Nigeria’s Goodnews Eyinjuoluwa Aina and Israel’s Shira Dvir have been crowned champions of the girls’ doubles at the J30 Accra – Tennis Foundation Ghana Open on the ITF World Tennis Junior Tour.
The top-seeded pair secured the title after second seeds Gwendolyn Duvor Klu of Ghana and Winner Gakpo of Togo retired from the final.
Aina and Dvir had produced a strong run through the tournament to reach the final, where they faced the Ghana-Togo partnership of Duvor Klu and Gakpo.
However, the final was brought to an early conclusion after Duvor Klu and Gakpo were unable to continue, handing the title to the number one seeds.
The victory caps an impressive week for Aina and Dvir, who showed consistency and composure throughout the girls’ doubles competition.
The J30 Accra tournament, hosted by Tennis Foundation Ghana at the National Tennis Centre in Accra, has brought together young players from Ghana, Africa and beyond as they compete for valuable ITF World Tennis Junior Tour ranking points.
