James Ato Wiafe, a standout player from the Army Officers tennis club, showcased his exceptional skills over the weekend, defeating Wisdom Aheto from Ho Tennis Club to claim the 2nd edition title of the Fine Water Classic Open.

The thrilling match, which lasted 2 hours and 15 minutes, saw James emerge victorious with a score of 7-5, 6-3 at the Ghana Tennis Club, Adabraka.

Both players demonstrated remarkable prowess, having advanced from the qualifying round to the finals.

In the first set, Wisdom initially took a 3-0 lead, but James adeptly adjusted his strategy to disrupt Wisdom's rhythm and secure a 7-5 win.

James maintained his consistency and outplayed Wisdom in the second set, winning 6-3.

In a post-match interview with ghanatennis.org, James reflected, "It has not been easy from the qualifying round to the finals. To be consistent at this level requires a lot of work. I am truly proud of myself and wish my opponent better luck next time."

Following Ho Tennis Club's Wisdom Ahetor's loss in the men's singles title, Linda Sedinem from the same club made an impressive comeback, defeating Police Depot Tennis Club's Eugenia Asigri 6-2, 6-1.

Linda delivered a stellar performance, consistently firing from the onset to the end, earning her a resounding applause from the spectators.

In a post-match interview, Linda expressed, "The win came when I saw my club members in their numbers. Leaving Ho for Accra to cheer me up motivated me. I want to thank the organizers for adding the women's category, and I am thrilled to be the first to lift the title."

Tournament organizer Joseph Nii Armah acknowledged, "I would like to thank all the sponsors who came on board to make this edition successful. This year's edition is an improvement on last year's edition."
