Accra, Ghana — American third seed Sydney Wright [3] has been crowned Girls' Singles champion at the World Tennis Tour Juniors J100 Accra - Tennis Foundation Ghana Open after producing a remarkable performance to overcome Polish top seed Alisha Ndukwu [1] in one of the tournament's most memorable finals.

 Sydneyprevailed 6-3, 4-6, 7-6(4) in an extraordinary championship match that lasted three hours and 40 minutes, with both players pushing each other to the limit at the National Tennis Centre in Accra.

From the opening point, the final carried the intensity of a championship battle.

Sydney made the brighter start, using her powerful groundstrokes and composure under pressure to take the opening set 6-3. But Ndukwu, the tournament’s top seed, refused to surrender.

The Polish youngster responded with determination in the second set, raising her level at crucial moments to take it 6-4 and force a deciding set.

What followed was a thrilling display of junior tennis.

The third set became a test of endurance, concentration and belief. Long rallies were met with thunderous applause from the Accra crowd, while both players repeatedly produced courageous shots when the pressure was at its highest.

The J100 Accra – Tennis Foundation Ghana Open once again provided a stage for emerging international talent, bringing together young players from different parts of the world and giving them an opportunity to compete for valuable ranking points and experience.
