Ladies Challenger Series: Grace Tomegah Advances into quarter-finals

Tournament No.1 seed Grace Tomegah won 4-6 6-2, 6-4 against Lawrencia Aghoghorbia in three hours and 30minutes to set up a meeting with seven seed Shika Mckorley who triumphed over Doris Adjokatsa 6-1,6-1 in hour and 10 minutes at the National Tennis Center, Accra. 

Grace had made a confident start, holding her opening serve to love, but then dropped her next service game to allow Lawrencia Aghoghorbia to take charge of the first set.

Lawrencia broke Grace first game second set but Grace bounced back strongly and won the five games in a row to win the second set 6-2.

In the final, Grace continued to put pressure on the Lawrencia's serve, securing an early break, to win the game 6-4.

Speaking to ghanatennis.org Grace said, "I didn't give up, she was playing really well and I wasn't really sure what to do at a certain point but I just tried to stick in there," 

Elsewhere Lawrencia Manu of St. Francis Foundation beats Rosemary Jeff Agyekum  6-0,6-0. Lawrencia will now face Tarkwa Goldfields Tennis Club's Tracy Ampah who ousted US based Ghanaian Amelia Dodoo 6-1,6-0. 

Winneba based Aleona  Naa Ankrah also took out No.4 seed Faustina Tagoe in a game that ended 7-6(5),6-4. Naa Ankrah will face tourney No.2 seed Naa Anyema Mckorley who overcame Ashaiman based Venessa Akuaku 6-1,6-2. 

Annette Cruickshank after beating Fatima Saliu 6-0,6-0  it out against Yvonne Bruce Tagoe who defeated Yayra Komashie 6-3,6-4.
