Ghana Davis Cup Team Gets Off to a Promising Start

The National Tennis, the Golden Rackets, commenced their Davis Cup Zone IV qualification on a positive note, defeating Mauritius 3-0 in Academia de Tenis Kikuxi Villas Club, Angola. 
 

Ghana will secure the top spot in Pot 1 following this decisive victory. 

14-time National Ranking Champion Samuel Antwi  emerge victorious against Daniel Bazu 6-4, 6-1. Isaac Nortey sustained Team Ghana's flawless start, outmaneuvering his opponent Rushill Seewoosurrun 6-2, 6-2. In the doubles event, Isaac Nortey partnered with Abukari Yakubu Lea to secure a 6-1, 6-7(5), 6-3 win. 

Speaking via Zoom, team captain and head coach Frederick Egyir stated, 'Our primary objective is to qualify, and we are adopting a match-by-match approach. I am genuinely impressed with the players' dedication.' 

The Golden Rackets will face the Republic of Congo in their second group match. A victory for Team Ghana against the Republic of Congo would significantly enhance Ghana's chances of advancing to the promotion play-offs in the ongoing tournament.
