Ruoyu Hua has completed a remarkable double at the J30 Accra – Tennis Foundation Ghana Open after successfully defending his Boys’ Singles title in Week 2.
The Chinese youngster defeated the challenge of top seed David Beckles of the United States in the Week 2 final, although the match ended prematurely when Beckles retired.
Hua was leading 4-6, 6-2, 3-0 when Beckles was forced to retire, handing the title to the Chinese player.
Beckles took the opening set 6-4, but Hua responded strongly to level the match before taking control of the deciding set.
The victory means Hua has won both the Week 1 and Week 2 J30 Accra Boys’ Singles titles, underlining his impressive form at the Tennis Foundation Ghana Open.
His back-to-back triumphs mark an outstanding fortnight for the youngster at the National Tennis Centre in Accra, where the ITF World Tennis Junior Tour event has brought together promising players from Ghana, Africa and beyond.
Hua's double success also highlights the importance of the Tennis Foundation Ghana Open in providing young players with opportunities to gain international experience and earn valuable ITF junior ranking points on home soil.
